Actually, the road to Manuel Brenes is closer than La Tigra (I bet that road to San Gerardo would be good to check out too as there is some good habitat around La Tigra). I haven't seen the road that I birded on indicated on maps but it is marked and leaves highway 141 where interesting looking marshy habitat and a fairly large lake are found.

Thanks... I think on my maps I see Tigra which is about 2/3 of the way to La Fortuna from San Ramon... with a short, small road branching out to the west of Tigra. On both my maps, a very small town of San Gerardo is at the end of this short road.

I'll assume that's it. Thanks Pal.

The main road goes from San Ramon to La Fortuna, passing through La Tigra. The entrance to the road we birded on that leads to Manuel Brenes is on the west side of the main road at Dos Lagos. Definitely worth birding- I hope to investigate it further as it has a lot of potential.

Hi Pat... Thanks for the tip.

I can see the road 702 on the map, I can see San Ramon, and I can see Manuel Brenes.

Where is the road in relation to these? I might try this out.
